It’s not surprising that someone created Information Overload Day (October 20). Don’t contribute to the problem of information overload… make sure your information is easily understood and visible.

Google has aggregated all kinds of data and data visualization tools that will give you charts and graphs far more exciting than Microsoft Excel’s 3D pie chart. They can be colorful, animated, interactive and engaging — a great way to bring your boring statistics to life. Many of the databases and visualization tools are available in the Journalist Studio. The site Flourish is by far my favorite.
