Travel Into the Past with Old Newspapers
Another high-tech holiday is April 7th’s International Snailpapers Day for printed newspapers. Like Road Map Day, the online resources for the archives are fascinating (and time sucking).
This article talks about my ancestor Harry Ziesenis, who at the age of 18 built a wireless telegraph plant. I consider this the proof of a hereditary nerd gene in the Ziesenis family. I found the newspaper in a treasure trove of historic American newspapers from a Library of Congress initiative called Chronicling America.
